This keeps the forearm bones stable when they rotate or when the hand is grasping. Triangular ligament injuries are a frequent cause of ulnar pain and can be caused by either traumatic or degenerative processes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4d688bbb elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4d688bbb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Treatment<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c37d7f8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c37d7f8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li class=\" translation-block\">Conservative -  consisting of immobilization with orthosis for three to four weeks and physiotherapy. Traumatic injuries require between four to sixteen weeks for recovery.<\/li><li class=\" translation-block\">Surgery - considered if conservative treatment does not alleviate the pain. It causes ulnar-sided wrist pain. It is attributed to positive ulnar variance which can be congenital or have resulted from a distal radius fracture with malunion, a consequence of trauma to the radius junction or injury to the elbow.<\/p><p>The pain is insidious and progressive increasing with sports activity and with pronation and ulnar deviation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7f624a63 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7f624a63\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Treatment<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-11638bca elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"11638bca\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li class=\" translation-block\">Conservative - consisting of orthosis for three to six weeks and physiotherapy.<\/li><li class=\" translation-block\">Steroid infiltrations can also be of diagnostic and therapeutic use and recovery ranges from four to sixteen weeks.<\/li><li class=\" translation-block\">Surgery - consisting of decompressing the ulnar border of the wrist, ulnar shortening osteotomy, or arthroscopic wafer procedure.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-2365480a elementor-section-stretched elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"2365480a\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;stretch_section&quot;:&quot;section-stretched&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-wider\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-2385acb5\" data-id=\"2385acb5\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-416d2710 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"416d2710\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3><strong>Ulnar Styloid Impaction<\/strong><\/h3><p>This condition is associated with wrist pain on the little finger side, caused by a short ulna and a long styloid. Articular cartilage damage in the wrist produces pain, blockages and decreased mobility, leading to wear and arthritis.<\/p><p>Most chondral wrist injuries are secondary to distal radius joint fractures.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-35f674af elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"35f674af\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Treatment<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3d9be8a4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3d9be8a4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li class=\" translation-block\">Wrist arthroscopy is used both for diagnosis and removing free bodies. Several treatment options are possible:<\/li><li class=\" translation-block\">Microperforations are bone perforations to increase the vascularization of the area and help with the possible regeneration of the cartilage.<\/li><li class=\" translation-block\">Mosaicplasty consists of transplanting a piece of another joint of lesser load into the injured area.<\/li><li class=\" translation-block\">Autologous chondrocyte implantation, having shown the best results, is a two-part procedure where a culture of the patient\u2019s cells are processed in laboratory, and the resulting collagen matrix is implanted into the injured area.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-7fd20ce elementor-section-stretched elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"7fd20ce\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;stretch_section&quot;:&quot;section-stretched&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-wider\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-599a222\" data-id=\"599a222\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4d7b9cd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4d7b9cd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3><strong>Posterior Ulnar Pathology<\/strong><\/h3><p>This injury usually involves the tendon and sheath of the extensor carpi ulnaris and is often caused by repetitive movements that combine lifting, impact, twisting or throwing. It is usually a slow progressive injury common with tennis players, golf players and weight lifters.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bc48175 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"bc48175\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Treatment<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5490bf4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5490bf4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li class=\" translation-block\">Conservative - selective infiltration accompanied by steroid injection in the fibro-osseous sheath.<\/li><li class=\" translation-block\">Use of splints, physiotherapy and changes in activity are further options.<\/li><li class=\" translation-block\">Surgery - consisting of compartmental release to relieve pressure on the nerve.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-f03b199 elementor-section-stretched elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"f03b199\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;stretch_section&quot;:&quot;section-stretched&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-wider\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-e1364da\" data-id=\"e1364da\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-417432a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"417432a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3><strong>Carpal Tunnel<\/strong><\/h3><p>This injury is caused by compression of the median nerve that passes through the carpal tunnel and is characterized by numbness and tingling in the hand and pain that radiates up the arm especially at night.<\/p><p>It is the most frequent nervous compression of the upper extremity and most causes are unknown, although they can come from anatomical or physiological causes such as diabetic neuropathies, position and use of the wrist.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-299b071 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"299b071\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Treatment<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2b4c548 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2b4c548\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li class=\" translation-block\">Conservative - this can be tried early on and if the condition is mild; it can consist of wrist splint, exercises and corticosteroid infiltrations.<\/li><li class=\" translation-block\">Surgery - performed by section of the annular ligament of the carpus. This can be done via endoscopy or by open carpal tunnel release.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-7c05875 elementor-section-stretched elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"7c05875\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;stretch_section&quot;:&quot;section-stretched&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-wider\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-e3210ca\" data-id=\"e3210ca\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9ad4de0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9ad4de0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3><strong>Synovial Ganglions<\/strong><\/h3><p>These are benign cystic tumors - small sacs of fluid that form over a joint or tendon. They are usually asymptomatic although sometimes painful.
